We went to a Boston University Alumni event in Hollywood at the Improv. My husband went to BU for his doctorate, so we get notices for this type of thing now and then. It was hosted by Jason Alexander (also a BU Alum). In fact, all of the "talent" had attended BU. Besides Jason Alexander, the other comedians included Jeffrey Ross, Bruce Fine, Courtney Cronin, and Michaela Watkins. Emily Deschanel of the tv show "Bones" was given the 2009 BUinLA Honored Alumni Award at the end.

Prior to the show starting, there was a reception with wine and hors d'oeuvres. We met a lady who was there by herself so we adopted her. When it was time to be seated, we lucked out and got great seats that were to the side, but up front. Unfortunately, the hostess backed up into my arm, and my RED wine splashed all over my light tan trench coat. [The good news is that our babysitter's parents own a drycleaning place--and the wine DID come out.]

We were hungry so we ordered some nachos that the three of us shared. The nachos were edible that's all I can say. But we were having so much fun laughing our heads off, it didn't really matter how good the food was.

After the show, Jason Alexander was just standing around, so we talked to him for a sec and DH took my picture with him. It was kinda funny, I was wearing healed boots although I'm still short, but he wanted to stand on the step with me below so he would look taller, lol. He was really nice and very down to earth. Oh yeah, while Jeffrey Ross was doing his routine, Jason played the piano...I was really impressed with how good he played!

Then we went outside to wait for our car to be brought around by the valet. Emily Deschanel and some guy came out to get their car too. She just started talking to us and was very friendly and very nice...surprisingly so. I thought that was cool.

We were going to go to Pink's to grab a bite, but we were full from the nachos, so we headed home. This was the 2nd annual BU comedy show; we were bummed to find out we had missed the first one. We'll be there next year though. It was a lot of fun.

Mr. Costanza!
You met George, that's hilarious. You should add it to that one thread about meeting famous people:
