With the babysitter watching the kids, DH and I took off for the coast to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, just a simple getaway to the coast.
We drove to Corona del Mar which is a quaint little hamlet by Laguna Beach and Newport Beach. We ate at Tommy Bahama's for no other reason than it's just a place we like; it's comfortable with good food.
We walked around after our leisurely meal and went into a couple of stores. We went into Sur la Table because I wanted to see if they had the copper pots like the one I had just gotten in Paris. They did, in fact, one of the ladies that worked there gave me a fun lesson about what some of the more unusual pieces were for (like a potato steamer and clam steamer). It was pretty cool.
After that, we put the top down on my car (it was about 77 degree F as opposed to the 100 degrees F where we live), and drove up the coast through Laguna Beach up to Dana Point. There was a hint of marine layer and therefore a little humidity and haziness, but the ocean was beutiful. Clearly a lot of people had been at the beach, and many still were as we drove by.
We didn't get out, but just enjoyed the drive. Once we got to Dana Point, we headed inland to drive back home. It was a very nice time.
