Today my roommate, Tania, came back. Laura, who is also from Latvia, is in our room too and Myriam, from Algeria. Well, at least things will no longer be quiet.

Today I didn't do much. I was going to go to ShiChaHai to have some tea at the teahouse, but I lost all motivation to do so after I called the airline. Rob got me the China phone number for the Cathay Pacific reservation line, so I thought I'd try to change my flight today. After talking to Ada, we thought that a flight next weekend would work, given that there are still a few things I want to do. However, there are no seats available on ANY flight between now and my regularly scheduled flight. Well, that sucks.

I had finally come to terms with leaving early, and then could not do so. Just my luck.

So, I will see everything I can between now and August 25. I have heard nothing about more teaching assignments from either school here. On the flip side, I have had two schools contact me via email about the possibility of teaching at home. Perhaps there is a cosmic trade-off?

I wish I could say my spirits are up, but they are not, no matter how much I will it to be. I think tomorrow will be better. I will go to the Forbidden City tomorrow with Ada's cousin, Lara. We were going to go today, but she wasn't feeling well. I think it is good we didn't go today, because it was really hot. I hope it will be cooler tomorrow.
