I got up and went straight down to breakfast. It was much better today than last time. I found the toaster, so I could warm up the pancakes. The pain au chocolat was fresh, and they had fresh fruit: 2 figs and a banana for me.

Two couples from the UK sat at another table. One of the women took her teapot and told the proprietor it was hogwash. Oh dear. As they were leaving I told them about La Passiflore. They have houses in Provence, one old and one new. The ones with the old house shared some renovation horror stories. Thanks.

I finished my tea, then went upstairs to shower. It was a beautiful, sunny day. I thought I'd go over to the cathedral and climb the stairs to get some pictures from above. There was a service going on when I got there though, so that was the end of that idea.

Instead I spent quite a bit of time at the house going through some things, literally sifting through sand/soot/dirt/bird poop and I don't know what. I did find some pictures of the band that had lived there, a cool wine bottle, some jelly jars, and a few other random things. I went through the garage, too, without really finding anything too interesting. I moved a lot of pieces of wood and trash and brought some of the interesting things down from the attic.

I was worn out, so I went back to the hotel for a little bit. Then I went back out for lunch. All the shops are closed on Sunday. I wasn't sure about the restaurants. I ended up at La France. I sat outside in the shade. The sun was shining bright, but the air had a chill to it.

I ordered aligot (a regional specialty that is basically creamy mashed potatoes & cheese) and pork sausage, but the server brought out duck confit. I didn't quite understand if they were out of the sausage, or if they had made a mistake. I said it was fine and accepted the duck. The aligot was great; the duck was pretty good too.

I went back to the hotel and worked on house plans...magazine clippings, kitchen drawings, ideas, questions, etc. I did this for quite a long time. Had the French cartoon channel on in the background. Maybe some French filtered in. ;)

I thought I'd try the cathedral one more time. A service was just getting out, AND a concert was going to start right after. Figures. I went walking down the road, outside of the bastide along the river. I had a nice time walking and taking some pictures. It was quite pretty.

I actually worked up a sweat on my walk. I was gone for quite awhile. I went back to the hotel and put my pajamas on. Yup, cookies, almond bar, and iced tea for dinner. Living large.

Night.
