So I've looked at thousands of properties for sale in France. Thousands. What I've gained from that is a better understanding of what we need to look for in a property. By that, I mean, we've been able to better define what we want.

It's scary looking for a property in another country on the other side of the world. There are so many factors to think about: exchange rate, inheritance laws, taxes, renovation/modernization, when to make a trip over to actually LOOK at the properties, etc.

So far, I think we have defined our budget, a general area to look (which still includes the central and western part of France!), the fact that the property should only require cosmetic updating and modernization (i.e. no major renovation), and we want it in as large a village as possible. Finding a property with these requirements will be no easy task.

Our work has been cut out for us.
