Where I stayed
We spent several days in Old Quebec. It really was like being in France.
We enjoyed see the historical buildings, Hotel Chateau Frontenac, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Citadel, and taking a boat tour on the St. Lawrence river. We also had fun practicing our French, but we were thankful that Canada is a bilingual country when our French failed us.
The weather was cooler than at home, currently in the 100's F. In Quebec, it was cool in the mornings and evening, but did warm up in the afternoons. There was some humidity that I wasn't used to, but overall, I found the weather refreshingly different from that of Southern California.
I can only imagine how beautiful the city looks in the winter, draped in snow. I've seen pictures, and I'm sure it's an amazing sight.
