I went to Hearst Castle as a kid; I have no idea what the date was.

I remember going up the scary, curvy hillside to get there. The place itself is very memorable though. It's grand and opulent--just what one might expect.

I think when I went there were three different tours you could take (the book says five now), each showing different parts of the complex. So there are many parts I have not seen.

I remember the beautiful indoor and outdoor pools and the Egyptian statues.

Some day I will take my own kids there and I'll have a fresher view of it.
