I first visited the majestic Queen Mary as a child with my parents when we did the tour. On this trip, I just saw her from afar as I sailed Long Beach Harbor with my own family.

The Queen Mary's maiden voyage was in 1936, and her interior is of the period in art deco style. Besides being a luxury liner, she also served time as a troop ship in WWII. Her last voyage was in 1967 when she was docked permanently at Long Beach.

You can tour the ship, have a cocktail at the Observation Bar, have dinner in one of three restaurants or even stay the night as a guest in one of the staterooms. There is also a Ghosts and Legends of the Queen Mary tour for those interested in the paranormal.
