Having lived in San Diego, I've been to LaJolla too many times to count. It's a very upscale beach destination in the San Diego area.

There are a few different areas within La Jolla that you can go to. One nice beach in Torrey Pines Reserve Beach. It's a nice long, sandy beach.

La Jolla Cove is gorgeous and very popular. It is a part of the La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve. You can rent snorkel gear or just lay out on the beach; it's very small, so it gets really crowded. Sea Lions swim around near by.

La Jolla Shores, just down the stretch, is a great place to walk along the beach and check out the tide pools. I think this area epitomizes TV California--it's so beautiful, and a fun place to play in the water.

The La Jolla hotels are nice (and expensive). On our latest trip down there, we stayed at the Sheraton La Jolla, which I wouldn't really recommend for a vacation stay; it's more of a business hotel.

The Torrey Pines Golf Course is world renowned if you're a golfer. I'm not. So I don't have much to say about it except that I know it's a big deal to golf fanatics.

There are a lot of good restaurants in the area.
