So, since we left Paris late, we got into Boston late. Getting the passports checked took no time at all, getting my one bag took forever. Which, ultimately, means we missed our connecting flight. The American Airlines guy at the counter very unsympathetically said the plane was still there, but it wasn't delayed, and that we'd just have to take our luggage up to ticketing and rebook our flight. Uh, ok. Basically, we didn't have time to get to the other terminal before the departure time, and they wouldn't hold the plane. Thanks, American Airlines.

There were two other parties with the kids and I when we got this news. We all went up to ticketing together. The others went up ahead and got in the long ass line. I asked this AA guy where the Gold Member line was, and he goes, "Oh, right here." And he opened the rope for me, and I was next in line. Yay me for asking the right question at the right time!

The lady clicked and clacked on the computer, handed us tickets, told us our gate number and said, "Quick, go now!" So here we were, running again. We went through security, got to our gate, and I found a payphone to call DH to let him know our flight had changed. Couldn't get a hold of him though. Hot tip: Always take your cell phone with you!

I suspect when we boarded our new flight the others were still waiting in line to be ticketed. I guess there ARE some benefits of being a Gold Member.
