Today's title brought to you by the ravings of Daphne.

I thought I was going to need milk for the rice pudding I need to make so I held off on porridge in favour of soup. That seemed like a good idea. Had soup, returned to room and watched a bit of NCIS before kick-starting the day into action. Acquisition was passable, Conservation was good (last lecture applause), on my break I went to walk down and get some money from the bank for the evening and came back on a really beautiful afternoon. Spent the rest of my breaking fixing the last bugs of our report, then headed to Parasite. I got some editing done during those classes for sure.

Lunch time saw Viv and I here in the flats for lunch. I offered her food, but all she took was a piece of toast and some cake. I have some toast and made some soup. We had a good chat amoungst the craziness that makes up our lunch kitchen before walking back to Biology. Viv actually went to some kind of shindig in town while I went up to the lab. It was a gorgeous day, so pretty in fact I didn't even get to take a picture of it because I sat in the lab.

Handed in Acquisition 1 which is the one I've been stressing out, printed it (on my money) and then dove into Acquisition 2. I wasn't feeling the best so I sat off to the side and was pleasantly ignored despite my suggestions. Being somewhat good with Excel, I did some graph and transformation work for them. Oh well. It took us the better portion of 3hr, but we got almost the entire report done, the rest to be finished on Tuesday. I'm good with that.

I wasn't much hungry when I got home, so I watched some TV to let my mind go and started thinking about what to wear dancing: probably jeans and heels. Walking heels seemed like a bad idea. I took some runners instead and went off to Sara's so we could get a ride together. Sara was in the middle of eating dinner and getting ready, no big deal, and Beth lives across the hall. However, Julia was nowhere to be seen. I texted her and she was still nowhere to be seen and said we should pick her up. That said we didn't get to the event till 8ish, about half way through the lessons and I just was not picking up the step. I got passed through a few partners, enthusiastic but terrible, and gradually got the footwork but not the turn. Met a few kindhearted gentlemen who helped me through the steps. By the time they let us go, hurray, people were coming in, buying drinks, and dancing really well (jealousy). Julia decided the only way to do things was to walk up to people and just ask them to dance. It worked, as you might imagine. The rest of us were a little more subtle. I ended up chatting to a guy I found alone with some wine. I think he was reluctant to dance because he claimed to be rubbish but also because he had a girlfriend. Not precisely why I started talking to him. Oh well. Later on a kind guy asked me to dance, older certainly, and put up with me as I accidentally both stepped on him and smacked him in the fact. In my defence, it was a bad turn and he was 6'2. Anyways, he was very kind about it and I have a bit more of a feel for it, terrible as I am. We've made a pact to get better. I left with the flatmates and we drove home across the river. Amy ended up accidentally driving on the other side of the road at one point - honestly I'm not sure why it doesn't happen more often because roads are so odd here. We had a brilliant chat about British slang, mostly regarding 'getting lashed' is not a punishment phrase, but a drunk one. Celebrities can say whatever they please apparently, hence the title of this blog.

I had supper with the ladies in the commons, talked about a bit more of our wash-up issues. Tired, I returned to my room: must wake up early for breakfast tomorrow. I'm going to edit a bit more and then sleep. I have a lot to do tomorrow and I want to get it all done and perhaps go on some sort of walk.

We're so doing swing dance next week and I'm hoping I can take at least one of the guys from the flat and convince them its not bad. It's actually pretty sexy. All guys should learn some form of dance, it's awesome ;)

Lots of love to everyone reading on this crazy leap-day - done anything crazy yet?
