Grabbed a shower to make sure my hair (why am I letting it grow out again?) and came back to my delightfully warm room to write more letters. I got half done last night, so I spent the rest of the time listening to music on shuffle and writing the rest of my letters. I'm just waiting on addresses for a few of them and I'll send them tomorrow when I go to the post office
Julia texted me and we said we'd meet up at 2. There has yet to be internet here at home so i threw my laptop into my bag and walked down to the Biology department and quickly answered 6 emails, dealt with 20 notifications, updated my blog, and uploaded all the necessary pictures in about 10min. I then kept walking down to Wills Memorial to meet up with here. It's something like -6 and windy outside, not my ideal walking weather, but it's sunny so I guess it was okay. When we met up, we decided to do the Cabot Circus area. The more we walked, the more I think she's not quite the right person to go to Ireland with. Don't get me wrong, I really like here and we get on great, she just probably isn't into the same things I would be when travelling. It inspired me to ask around the flat when I got back to see if anyone has plans. The vets are out in placements I know, but the others might be free.
By the time I got back, it was dinner time and I was well red in the face and cold. I discovered the most fantastic chocolate place and clothing store. They're quite nice. I made dinner and sat and chatted for quite a while as is becoming habit. Tom G gave me and Sarah a piece of garlic toast. Yum.
Eventually I came back upstairs to get a bit more of my work - read stats report - done but little else as I was dragged downstairs to do nails, give massages, and watch a rather strange British comedy people back home would find hilarious and perhaps awkward? Sat, chatted about various things, had some snacks, chatted some more.
We got upstairs and had an impromptu meeting in Nik's room regarding football teams, prissy girls, and where are ironing broad went. Apparently some carpet has been accidentally been melting because we're ironing on the floor. A great reason not to bring iron-needed clothes to uni.
It feels like I haven't done a whole lot today, though I must admit I didn't very much try. I also used up the last of the pasta so tomorrow will be rice and apple dumpling for supper, as celebration for finishing the week. I won't have to worry much about Saturday and I'll go shopping on Sunday for food. Also do laundry. Also make sure lab report is formatted, as it's a bit ambiguous how they want this sort of thing. Also tomorrow I will send off the letters I've finished and have lunch in the Crypt. That should be more productive.
Lots of chilly British love,
