went to leah´s long lost cousin´s granny´s birthday party. it was cool, it was small they are having a big party on saturday but we wont be there. she was fun and we met aunties and uncles. one girl, danielle, was home on holiday from america, she lives in fort lauderdale. her cousin melisa is hopefully coming to ireland next year.

we drank lovely argentinian wine (which they said was actually only the cheap stuff; we are so ripped off in ireland). we drank mate with them (its like green tea they drink it all the time and its a cermony sort of thing). we spent the next day with melisa and her brother damien. we just hung out in melisa´s apartment and watched big fish and listened to music.

leah swapped all the info on the families; her uncle and melisa´s dad are both into the family tree thing so theyll have lots of fun emailing each other to see if they are related or not.

last night we came to tucuman. not lots to do here, really only a stop off on the way to cafayate. gonna see if we can find soemwhere to get a mani-pedi and pamper ourselves a bit.

the weather is feckin miserable, its like an irish summer. warm enough but every other day is grey and its rains about once every 3 days. apparently this is not normal for this time of year.

so, thoughts on south america so far. i can see why people say brazilian women are good looking. most brazilians have long legs, long dark hair and big boobs. in fact over here all the porn mags have womens asses on them instead of boobs, coz big boobs are no big deal.but close up theyre no better looking than irish women i reckon. we certainly havnt had any lack of lads trying it on. and i certainly shouldnt have worried that i wasnt good looking enough for the beach.

argentina is way more industrialised than brazil. everywhere here takes visa. except the hostels. everywhere in brazil claims to take visa but then the machine isnt working. people are more into talking about politics and stuff here. the election is in a week.

it seems like rock is big over here, but its hard to find anywhere that plays it. i think maybe just tops and bags with bans on them are in fashion. nearly everyones waring a rolling stones tshirt but i havent heard them played anywhere. they have loads of salsa and tango mixed with dance of various types. not my type of thing really. but most hostels will let you play your ipod.

still no word on when my viva is on. i may be in ireland for a while before its on, so i guess ill be job seeking when i get home.

well sin e for now. well be in cafayate tomorrow for a few days. theres canyons there and big ruins, might see if we can rent a car for a day, it will probably be the easiest way to see them.
