After a very short sleep we were up and about early, repacking into my backpack and using the flight cover I have for my backpack as Jack's bag! With one last call to the airline with no news we headed of to the bus station for the 2 hour ride to Montevideo. We were very sad to leave Punta because even though it'd been stressful trying to get our backpack bag we had still had a great time here :)

The 2 hour bus ride was comfortable enough, buses in Uruguay have free wi-fi which as a backpacker is a god send! I dozed most of the way as we were still sleepy from the day before. When we got to the bus terminal we quickly hopped into a taxi to our new hostel. I have to say I find Montevideo to be a strange city, it is so quiet, no traffic and no sense of urgency that you would expect of a city. It is also really small, there are 3 million people in Uruguay and half live in the capital. So it's a world away from the hustle and bustle of the UK. Our hostel was in a colonial style building with really high ceilings, huge windows and doors. We were both pretty tired so while Jack napped I tried to upload some photos to Facebook as mum and dad had been asking for days to see some. Just as I had nearly finished the upload the Internet crashed out on me!!! I couldn't be bothered to go through all that again so woke Jack up and we went in search of food.

After a short walk down the Main Street in Montevideo we had a nice steak and then went back to the hostel. The hostel had a cat which was clearly a little spoilt and was king of the castle, he enjoyed nosing around our bags and plopping himself on the chair for the computer. He was very cute.

Jack watched Harry Potter and I borrowed David's laptop to try again with the Facebook uploading and had a little more success though I didn't put everything up I wanted to. Eventually everyone rolled in to bed still tired from the night before!
