Where I stayed
The Artists Cottage

Am having to write tis entry while in Uluru as we had no connection in the cottage and never got to the internet cafe before closing time. So here goes a synopsis of our 5 days but sadly you will have to wait for photos!! Well we went crocodile hunting and saw 6,also saw a lace monitor  on a beach(which is a big lizard)we even were fortunate enough to have a cassowary run across the road while we were driving-very rare occurrences apparently. Our favourite day was when we went snorkelling out in the Great Barrier Reef. Had found a company that dont take as many people as most of the other boats and because it was market day there were only 19 people on the boat. So we had 9 crew and this was great for me as  i was nervous about swimming out of my depth and so one crew member helped me out, using a life ring as extra confidence. Amazing fish and coral. The only down size was Ian got quite badly sunburnt on his back. fantastic 4 mile beach and had two lovely swims in the waves on our last day. The water was so warm. We really didnt want to leave. The cottage was surrounded by palm trees and other exotic trees so although the birdsong started around 530 we didnt mind and just sat on our verandah. Tough or what!!

No contact
Guessing that Kirsten & Ian are struggling to find a broadband connection to update their blog, we can report that they rang us and have arrived in Queensland safely. They are well and feeling hot. Won't put any more about what we understand they are doing as it will spoil their telling of the story.
They were fantastic guests to have for the week. They brought the worst weather for a year, but we still had fun. We had to check Ian's bags to make sure Murphy was still here as they formed quite a bond. He still keeps checking their room. Very sad to see them go, especially knowing how long it may be till we meet again. Let's hope it isn't.
