There are some days in life that will take more time to describe that you actually spent doing.... today was one of those days... so the multiple posts for today are really just some notes so I don't forget all the things I want to write about. This is part 2 of 3 for this crazy day (too many photos for a single post)

So we drive out of Agra, across town through old Agra, then more than an hour along rural country roads seeing the real India. Which we absolutely love. We are still very insulated from it, and the stares are constant. But it is an awesome introduction into to it. Mustard fields, and little temples. Tiny villiages and tons of construction. Never seen so much exposed rebar in my life.

We pull up to Fatehpur Sikri and are transferred to a "governement sponsored tour guide"... take a took took to the top of the hill, go inside and are given a very nice tour of the facilities. We discover that this was a palace of one of the mughal emporers, I think it was Akbar the Great, I'll have to Google it. He attempted to unify all the main religions of the day into a single religion simply titled "The religion of one god" or something like that. Muslim holy day, so the mosque is closed for about 15-20 minutes. We are shown the secret exit out of the city, 40Km underground. The tower for the favorite elephant. Outer hall for public audience.... special inner hall for private audience. almost 2 stories, cross shape inside, Akbar in middle, 8 advisers around the outside, audience members below. 3 wives of different religions. Architecture attempts to unify the different styles of the different religions (Muslim, Hindi, Catholic, Buddist). Hearded to high-pressure salesman of cloth and strings. Then the highest stone gate in all of asia. Guide was formerly a pro photographer... do I believe that?
