Life in NY is chaotic as usual. I've been working alot as of late, and hope that things stay this steady - its nice to be busy and learn constantly. Recently finished work on a three-week gig out in Bridgehampton, NY (Long Island) - a home-show called Katie Brown Workshop. Most of my work was as Dolly Grip and Camera Assistant, so I picked up some new skills and learned loads more about the Panasonic Varicam. The best part of the job was the crew - who worked hard and efficiently, but also knew how to kick back for a good evening each night. A few guys played guitar, I sang - we had a routine jam on the outdoor hotel deck each night (drinks included of course), getting to know one another through music/lyrics. I sang the blues, KC-style, to much approval - and from there is was nothing but joy. Also last week I worked on a model shoot for a clothing line called Tahari - unbelievably attractive people, but not the coolest working environment...its a long story.

Anyway - I seem to feel quite "anti-literary" these days. In a very good way, the city takes all of my energy, so I have little left to put on paper (so to speak). That is why this blog is called the "media frenzy" - because I'm going to offer a new array of media to illustrate and entertain.

First, a fun little video on youtube that the crew and I made - a sample of one of our jam sessions. Its a nice little nugget that displays the general mood and nightlife we enjoyed during our time together: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xeXZ8p4AjM

Next, are a few photos in the gallery - some miscellaneous, but most from the New York Botanical Gardens, in which there was an exhibit by renowned glassblower Dale Chihuly. The vibrant colors mixed in with the drab greens, etc was an exquisite spectacle.

Finally, a short video my roomie Adam and I made. It was a spur of the moment idea of Adam's that was sparked by a Bob Dylan song on his trainride back to Astoria last night. We initially were going to shoot the whole concept in video, but didn't have a camera handy. Instead, we went out with my Nikon digital and snapped photos here in Queens and more in Times Square and surrounding. Then we enhanced each photo slightly, edited it together quickly and mixed some unused music left over from my last project (music composed by Harlan Muir). Walah! And you have "Passerby" - see it in the gallery as well.
