After a 2 hour wait on the side of the road in Khao Lak a bus did finally materialise and w were soon in the air conditioned confines of the multi-patterned and karaoke blaring interior. Quick change in Phuket to a similar bus and we were on our way to Krabi. The limestone cliffs, Whats and giant Buddha statues helped while away the journey. After bargaining with a tuktuk driver we then headed to Ao Nang.
Our hotel was a bit tucked away from the chaos of Ao Nang. This is an over developed area and clearly the sewerage system can not cope- the stench is incredible. This also is the cause of the pestering you get. WE found a Thai-run restaurant with a killer Tom Yam soup to cure my cold and quickly retreated to our hotel.
