Today a met Liliana, another very good friend if Lili´s. She just arrived home from working in Spain. She was very nice and friendly. We spent the morning touring different sites around town and the afternoon with her family. After visiting with her family at her aunts house and going out for coffee we went to a small restaraunt and ate melotés. This was my second experience with them, i liked them but they were better at the ¨booth food¨place.

Places we visited in the morning:

-The house of the serdan siblings (or la casa de los harnanios serdan): This is a house that has been converted into a very museum, it is a very important place in mexico. Lili's brother had told me about it earlier so i was excited when i found out what it was. ***insert more information here*** (person hiding in floor)

-Balafoxiana: A very beautiful library of very old books, one person started it with a huge donation of books. It was a public library until they decided to protect it in order to preserve the books. The room the library was in was not huge for a library by todays standards but it was absolutlu beautiful, primarily carved and glossed wood with accenting sculptures and gold. I did not get pictures of this because they were not allowed, but i found one in a brochure and am hopeing to possibly find a post card also. It was funny there was a large wood structure that looked a little like a water wheel...the man working in the library said this was the original internet. you could open different books and lay them on the differnet "shelfs" and spin it around...there could probably be atleast 10 books open and readily available at a time...it was a funny comment and interesting way to think.

-The bull fighting ring: we could not go inside but we saw the outside and what we could through the windows.

-We ate many different things at a "booth food" place. Including real gorditas (sp?) which can not be in any way similar to something at toco bell, unless i have never been with someone eating one...which is unlikely. I tried some other things also but the names escape me now...they were all very good!

-We checked to see what was playing at the Imax theater, it was about the amimals of canada...we decided that if i wanted to learn about the animals of canada, i would go to canada, now i am in mexico.

-We also went to the visitors center and got me lots of brochures and maps with good stuff in them.
