What a fabulous day. This definitely tops as one of the favorite stops on the trip. I have never seen anything like all that is around me. The land is constantly changing, eroded away over the centuries to form countless canyons, caves, mountains - I can't even explain - only pictures can make you understand. I spent the day hiking, climbing through abandoned cave communities, exploring underground cities and attempting to interact with a few of the local people - still living in the caves. Seriously, only pictures.

Anyway, after a reeeaallly long day, I headed to a small family restaurant for dinner. As each course was brought out to me, the waiter (son of the owner) made more and more small talk. Eventually, I was sitting around a table with some of the family talking about Turkey, their laws, rules, army duties, religion, education, marriage - and that of the states. Two hours after the restaurant had closed, 3 glasses of wine later (they continued to open new bottles, insisting I try each of the local specialities - even though they wouldn't join me, due to Ramadan. And of course, didn't charge me for anything), I finally called it a night. But I had made some new friends that were willing to help me out with anything the rest of the time I was in Cappadoccia.
