From Avignon we drove down to Barcelona in Spain. We did a bit of a tour of the town in the bus and stopped off to look at La Sagrada Familiar. This is a church that was crazily decorated by the artist Gaudi, but he did not finish it before his death (he was killed by a tram while standing in the road admiring his work!). We also saw a number of other apartments that has been decorated by Gaudi in similarly crazy, but intriguing designs. Some of the group chose to go to a Bull Fight in the evening and so we dropped them off and headed for camp. We stayed out of the city in a campsite on the Medeteranian. That night we drank a huge batch of Sangria (red wine, fruit, white rum, champagne, vodka, juice and the kitchen sink.)The next day we headed into the City and wandered down La Rumbla, a cool street for markets and shopping! Then we went and had lunch opposite La Sagreda Familiar and met up with some of the tour group for more Sangria and Tapas. After we had shopped and eaten ourselves to death, we headed back to camp and went down to the beach to have drinks under the moon light. A very nice ending to my 24th birthday...
