So today i headed off on a 29 day tour around Europe with Topgeck tours. We left London early morning and headed to Dover to get a ferry to Calais in France. From Calais, we drove to Paris and stayed for 2 nights. On the first night we drove around Paris and saw the Eifel Tower, Arc de Triumphe, Moulin Rouge and Opera House all lit up. The views were amazing, the city was so beautiful all lit up.
The next day we went into the city to see the sights in the day light. I started at Notre Dame Church. The Gothic architecture and Rose windows were breath taking. I then headed down to the Musee De O'rsay to see the impressionist displays. On the way it began thundering down with rain an i was drenched from the waist down, but i didn't care because i was so excited to be in Paris, so i just kept walking through it!
At the Musee De Orsay I saw paintings by Renior, Monet, Van Gough and Ceszzane. Monet was by far my favorite, I could see all the texture of the paints and the gorgeous colors.
From there I head to the Lorve and checked out all the big names. I saw the Mona Lisa (and was told off for sneaking a photo) and the Venus De Milo, The Wedding Feast and the coronation crown of Louie the XVI. The building itself was amazing and way to big for me to see all of.
then i wandered along the river to the Eifel Tower, enjoyed a crepe underneath and then caught the lift up to the second level (which was more that high enough for me!) the view was amazing.
i met up with the tour group for dinner and Champagne under the Eifel tower and then we headed to a Caberet Show. The Show was very surprising and very entertaining. The dancing and crowd interaction was great, but the half naked people took a bit of getting used to!
the following day we packed up camp and headed for Avignon, in the south of France.
