We had to overnight in Houston en route to Honduras. We arrived to a balmy 22C. After we figured out how to call our hotel to make arrangments for the shuttlebus (you have to dial the area code as well as the last seven digits), we were off to our hotel only ten minutes away.
The shuttlebus driver was a fellow who had served in the Vietnam war, firstly near the Cambodian border, and later at the DMZ (Demilitiarzation Zone) near Hue, Vietnam. He showed us where he'd gotten schrapnel in his head and neck. There were a number of American war vets in Vietnam when we were there, but this guy had no intention of ever returning.
