About 8:30 am we negotiated with a petit taxi driver to take us to the train station where we caught a train to the airport. There we ran into Tim, Lindsay and Jody, all waiting for the same flight back to the UK.
Our flight to Amsterdam with Ibertian Airways was via Madrid. We quickly realized that economy flights in this part of the world often provide few services. They didn't even provide water without charging for it.
Transferring planes in Madrid was an interesting experience. It was good we had a three-hour layover! Most of the time was spent changing terminals and going through security - basically being shunted all over the place! The government here is very concerned about another terrorist attack so they certainly are thorough in checking out all passengers. The airport is renowned for being a real bottleneck of air traffic.
Yeah, it must be getting close to Christmas. There were carols playing on the plane and Christmas trees at both the Casablanca and Madrid airports. It all seems kind of strange . . . .
