We left -40C in Saskatoon yesterday and travelled via Calgary to San Franciso where it was a balmy (well, it seemed like it to us), 10C. Stayed at the Powell Hotel (lots of character, not much glitz - just our style) right in the downtown area. Took the trolley car down to Fisherman's Wharf and walked back up the steep (and I mean steep) hills back to our hotel (via Chinatown) to try and tire ourselves out for the 20+ hours we'll be spending on the plane. First rule when travelling with a digital camera: make sure to have extra recharged batteries! I didn't and have very few pictures!
