Next day we decided to get a few of the touristy things out the way with, caught the tube to Westminister and up the London eye to get a good overview of the city, then spent nearly an hr looking through Westminister Abbey, no queues so was fantastic. The afternoon we spent shopping in Carnaby St, some very cool streetwear and surf shops, could have spent so much money!! Met a Scotty Mckenna in Convent Garden (also cool shops here aswell) for a few ales at Punch'n'Judys pub, Scott Evans turned up a little later so was great to catch up with them both after such a long time
My Auntie made us a nice home cooked meal for dinner, after a few wines was ready for bed after being on our feet all day.
Yesterday we went to Leceister Square to the 1/2 price ticket booths and got some tickets to 'We will rock you' a musical tribute to Queen, only £23, bargin!! Had a look around Trafagular Square and Hyde Park then went back to get our gear from my Aunties and move to Scotts flat in West Brompton. We all went out to 'We will rock you' which was a brillant performance, they played all the greatest hits to sing along to. Afterwards went to the infamous walkabout pub for a few drinks.
Today we have been busy sorting out our van, it was supposed to be ready to be picked up from its service a week ago but go held up with parts. Was quite a mission trying to find the place then trying to navigate our way back to my Aunties place with no power steering through London lunchtime traffic was not easy but haydens good driving skills definately helped. We still have a few minor issues to fix on the van before we head over to Calais on Sunday, I'm just relieved the brakes are fixed!! Now we can deck it out with all our NZ stickers and All Blacks flags!!
Not much planned tonight, catching up with Scotty Mckenna and Marty Currum for a curry in town, byo booze so thats great, kiwi dollar doesn't go far when your out drinking at bars.
Scott has sky in the flat so will be up in the morning to watch the All Blacks game, cant wait!!
Thanks for all the updates from home, much appreciated, love hearing what everyones up to.
