Hotel Los Gemelos
After a travel day on Thursday, Stephanie and I spent Friday morning exploring the ruins at Copan. John had already seen the ruins on a previous trip, and didnīt particularly need to return. So he decided to wait for us in San Pedro Sula, relaxing and exploring that town.
This will likely be our last major ruin for a while, and it was a good one. Although the site as a whole was slightly smaller than some of the ones we had visited before, the ruins were impressive. The detail in the carvings was fantastic, and we had a nice morning exploring the area. There were very very few foreign tourists, and only a few school groups. As a result, Stephanie and I got roped into letting a group of kids interview us for a school project -- they had to get opinions about the craft products solid in the area.
After the ruins, we returned to San Pedro Sula, and learned that John had witnessed a small political rally earlier in the day in the central park, regarding the current political situation.
Next up: soccer!
