Although Belize and Honduras are fairly close together (as the crow flies), getting from one to the other is surprisingly complicated.  From Punta Gorda to Utila involves two boats, two minibuses, a chicken bus and a regular bus.  The following series of map pins describes our route between the two.

Punta Gorda, Belize to Puerto Barrios, Guatemala:  By boat

Puerto Barrios, Guatemala to the Guatemala/Honduras border:  By minibus/collectivo.  We never even made it to the station or terminal in Puerto Barrios.  Just hopped into the first van yelling 'frontera'.
