Today when we woke up we were sailing into the port of Cobh, Ireland! We sailed by beautiful cliffs, castles and lighthouses as we approached the port. What a great day we had! We visited the gorgeous Blarney castle and, yes, we kissed the Blarney Stone. I had thought kissing the stone gave you good luck, but it turns out it gives you the “gift of gab.” I am not sure I needed this gift, but I kissed it anyway. We also visited Kinsale, a quaint fishing village, where we had lunch in an Irish pub.

One of the best things about this port of call was the send off the locals gave us. Hundreds of locals lined the streets waving as we sailed away. Apparently, they don’t get too many cruise ships and they seemed to really appreciate us being there… contributing to their local economy.

It was an excellent day. As a side note, the weather has been excellent this entire trip. Except for one day, we have had flat seas and we have not seen one drop of rain.
