Woke up early to pack up the rest of our things, sad to leave Paraty, which was literally paradise, a secluded white beach with just kayaks, locals and sea turtles for company. Time to grab some more breakfast from the standard breakfast buffet found in all of our hostels/hotel and take a transfer bus to the port. After spend a while in the supermarket stocking up on some treats whilst waiting to board, we were finally setting sail on the Catamaran.

The views ahead were just as beautiful as the views we were leaving. We walked straight past the seating area on the bottom deck and walked up to the rooftop where we had a beautiful panoramic view. It was difficult to choose which way to face once I finally sat down- the beautiful port we were leaving in the distance, or face the excitement that was reaching Ilha Grande. It was a beautiful day, really sunny with blue skies and birds flying ahead, but it was very windy on the top deck!

We arrived at the Island around midday and found our small little hostel, which is the cutest thing I have ever seen... and trust me, I don't usually find things "cute." The hostel could be spotted a mile away, well not literally as there were so many little cabins filling up the streets, as it was painted bright yellow, blue and pink with the most random little ornaments and windmills in the garden. It was another World, the garden of the hotel, everything from coloured frogs to creepy gnomes.

Aoife and I took advantage of our pot noodles which we bought by the port and then we all went out for a bit of proper lunch, which consisted of the standard Salgados found all over Brazil. There were no cars to be seen here, just carts selling homemade cakes and/or jewellery, and so everyone was on foot, and we walked all over the island. The hostel has free wifi which is good as I was able to connect my iPod Touch, and also another TV room where we all chilled out to There's Something About Mary with a couple of beers and card games in the evening, as we listened to music.

Mellow.
