After the night bus we were travelling in a little minibus which wasn't too bad as it wasn't that long a journey. We arrived in Paraty at 3pm so from hotel to hotel it took 22 hours!! OUCH! Our hostel is really really nice, unbelievably cute. Best hostel I've ever stayed at- unreal! It was right on the beach, and from the upstairs hammocks you can just chill at the view of the beautiful white sandy beach and the palm trees swaying to the sea breeze. The hostel is kind of quirky with little decorations here and there, really nice decorations such as flags and poster art, truly unique, and its made out of wooden planks. Really beautiful, and the rooms were dorms, so the 6 girls stayed together! We dumped our stuff in our room and then quickly explored this amazing hostel. They have a bar/restaurant area, literally 5 metres from the beach, if that! A TV area, snooker table, kayaks for our us... amazing hostel!

We then went out into the town which involved walking up this massive hill! The town of Paraty is really old in some parts but that just adds to its character- its such a pretty place with cobbled roads, so it was quite tricky to walk. Really friendly people too, which is always good! After exploring the town (a literacy festival was going on so it was decorated with flags and stuff) we went for an early dinner (2 persons share again, so I went with Aisling and had a Spag Bol) which was, again, really nice!

We then took a taxi back to our hotel at around 6 to get ready for our night out. As usual, I didn't have any party clothes so I wore my new Brazil shirt (standard Kim haha) and I looked like a "Miss October" according to Barney haha just trying to make me feel better about my questionable outfit! So we went an met Sebastian at the bridge at 9 and we went to a bar and drank multiple Caprinihas and sang along to the Amy Winehouse CD which was playing on repeat in this bar. These little girls were there too, the daughters of the bar owners and they were so cute and dancing along with us- amazing! The bar leads out onto a packed street where everyone is just moving with the crowd and chatting away to everyone- very friendly!

We then went out onto the street and joined the party, which was packed with live music from all angles. We watched this Capoiera show which was like this "avoid the kung fu kick with acrabats" dance thing and then all of a sudden the acrobats dragged me in to the circle which the crowd had made and expected me to "dual" with this little boy. It was hilarious! I was up against this little boy, and I had no idea what to do, but he had obviously been waiting a lifetime to have a go and wanted to show of his moves, I felt sorry he was up against me- it was so funny so I just experimented with random kung fu moves to the beat of the drums lining the circle.

We chilled in the town square for most of the night, then decided to go back to our hotel so some of us could go onto this club at 2 which Nico had planned. We returned and the bar area was pretty full and it all suddenly hit off with the Swedes! Bless them, gotta love them! The most mental thing I've ever witnessed. We separated them and they calmed down but then, later on it all started again with punches, slaps and glasses being thrown about! Tears everywhere- mental! Crazy end to an amazing night!
