Saturday- Akumal- Wow. If you have read my previous blogs, or seen my pictures on facebook, or know me even a little bit/have seen the resemblance between my sister and Verne from Over The Hedge... you will know that I'm a big fan of turtles, so of course a visit to "the land of the turtles," which is what Akumal translates to in Mayan, was high on the to-do-see-and-experience list. The beach was simply amazing. Pure white sand again, and the sea was perfectly still. This must be one of the best ways to see sea turtles in their natural environment. Simply rent/bring your snorkels/fins, and enter the sea as you please... We didn't need to swim far before we saw our first sea turtle grazing on the sea grass right beside us, incredible! It was so amazing to see them munching away and then gliding up for some air before returning back to the sea bed. I loved every minute of it and definitely recommend visiting, in total during one snorkelling session I saw NINE turtles... NINE. The reefs in Akumal are also special with more beautiful fish, and I also saw 3 stingrays and 1 hungry looking barracuda! All together an incredible experience.

We finished the night in Congo. Bloody tourist season ripping us off with all the clubs in the hotel zone thinking we are gringos :( Frustrating when we normally get things for free!

Sunday- Fat day. My god did I eat a lot that day. First, I kick-started the day at 12 o'clock with Tec and Hugo to finally eat our beloved Pizza al Pastor. Mmm. So tasty! It was then time to get my basketball fix for the holidays, watching Hugo and Yayo's game in which they destroyed the other team! Post basketball food around 3 in the Dubai Palace casino. Free drinks and even more tasty, tasty food with Hugo and Tec. These two are big 6ft+ friendly basketball giants and I shamelessly ate more than them and even helped them to finish... baring in mind I pretty much ate half a pizza only hours before... We then joined Alan and Maryanna in Los Guanatos for some Micheladas and continued the fiesta in Alan's house with tasty wine concoctions a la Tec and Captain Morgan's. All this time Jodie, had been texting me asking what my plans were/where I was etcetc but I strangely never received them... eventually Rosie's call got through to me, albeit too late and I missed my own Come Dine with Me. Tragic. Turns out I had somehow, someday, put Jodie's number onto the blocked list on my phone, how I did that I have nooooo idea! Anyway, I returned home at 2am to find everyone still in the garden eating, and they had saved me a plate from the 3 course meal and of course I was a little steaming, so ate it all while they watched in horror. Elegant and sophisticated, of course. Oh, life.

Monday- El Noche Buena- New Year's Eve, David Guetta, Playa del Carmen. That says it all really doesn't it, no need for explanation. One of the best beaches in the World with argubaly the best DJ in the World. David Guetta. Boom. Oh my word, it was fucking insane. Amazing. He did a 3 hour set and came on after the 30 second countdown, with an amazing firework display... and he "dropped the ball" with my favourite song of his to shout, "Titanium" and continued with "She Wolf" He has pretty much produced all of the party songs you hear in the clubs, most of the time you don't even realise is him, it was just epic. So good. Front row, on the tv screens, style. INSANE. The only bad thing to come from the night was the nasty burn on my leg. I don't even have a good story for it :( Only that my reactions, even without having drunk a single drop of alcohol, were too slow when I pressed my leg into an open lightbulb for no more than 1 second. Bloody lack of Mexican Health and Safety! I'm writing this blog more than a week later, and the burn is looking pretty damn disgusting. Great.

Tuesday- By this point all the Southampton gang were fully immersed into the Bahía Azul lifestyle and were loving it! I think we recovered on the beach today. In the evening, not many places were open on New Year's Day, but we all took to the Karaoke bar and enjoyed las chelas. At the sound of Aerosmith, every single Brit was up on the mini stage singing our hearts out, after spotting a little Mexican lady desperately trying to sing along we dragged her up on stage with us, she was hilarious and had the same amount of passion, but was just lacking in the lyrics...

Eventually Bahia Azul managed to turn the mini stage into an antro with the whole house bopping up and down, it was brilliant!

Wednesday- Of course another day at one of the beautiful beaches in Cancún I believe :) Today it was round 3 of Come Dine with Me, and WOW did the boys exceed all expectations. We couldn't believe the effort they had made to create this absolute feast. They went to the supermarket 3 times because they kept forgetting things/wanting to add things. Their first course was different types of cheese and bread. The main was homemade enchiladas. Enchiladas from scratch, right down to the green salsa! We couldn't believe it, it was all so cute and delicious. Dessert was just what we needed, almond ice cream with added treats. They also carved the most amazing Watermelon creature and used it to serve their delicious watermelon/vodka drink. 10 out of 10 for the Mexicans. Unbelievable! Following this amazing meal we all finished the night off in Dubai, the antro where they also do Karaoke. We asked for about 8 songs but sadly, they only played one... Maroon 5- She Will Be Loved, what a belter and a tear jerker if you sing it with the right amount of passion ;) Finally tonight saw the return to Yaxchilan tacos. Oh my god. They are the best. I found myself jumping involuntarily whilst he was making mine, I was that excited. 2 tacos, turned into "dos más por favor" (4) which then turned into 6. I could've continued saying "dos más" but the fact that everyone else was full after just 2, I restrained myself. But, bloody hell, they are the best tacos around. Fact.

Thursday was the last day for two Southamptoners and as we all walked down the road to say goodbye it was so emotional for everyone... if they started crying after just 2-3 weeks in Cancun, I can't imagine what I'm going to be like... We spent the day at the beach and I disappeared to buy some drinks (food, fat bitch) and when I returned I was subject to a pretty good prank, the pendejos. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151327318502692&set=t.607710149&type=3&theater See it here << Then after saying farewell I went to the cinema to watch Lo Impossible, where I didn't shed a single tear, yet I was sobbing throughout the trailer. Disappointed in myself.

Friday- Today was Gabby's birthday so the remaining Southampton lot went to the beach and rented Jet Skis. So much fun! Only the second time I've been on Jet Skis I think, and the first time doesn't really count because I was stuck with my mum clinging onto me for dear life whilst my sister was with my dad having the time of her life... Life as a twin is so unfair sometimes... Upon returning to Bahia Azul we arrange a little party with a couple of games of Ring of Fire and a cake. The Mexican tradition here is to push the birthday girl/boy's face into the cake... oh, it was hilarious!

Lazy Weekend- This weekend I have been so lazy, reminding me of myself back in England to be honest... after 3 weeks of constant non-stop go-go-go/exciting activities (I say 3 weeks, really I mean 3 months) I honestly just crashed down and out for two days. Relaxing with some Micheladas and friends, that were brought to my house, instead of me going to the bar, was about the height of my activeness this weekend. K-nackered. Down and out. I spent this time downloading some music and the TV programmes I have rudely managed to neglect whilst I've been here (all except Homeland and Revenge which are so good I have found the time somewhere along the way...)

Monday, Isla Mujeres- Day trip with Maryanna to Isla Mujeres. We ate some breakfast and then decided to go and rent some bikes to explore the Island. Somehow, we managed to leave with a scooter instead. The men were looking at me like "what the... is she doing?" but I reassured them, "no worries I know exaaaaactly what I'm doing," looking at the handlebars/brakes/accelerator trying to remember anything from the one time I drove a scooter in Miami where one friend crashed into a gate almost instantly, and the other's bonnet thing flew off into the road... I gave them my license and off we went. Wooohooo, so much fun! We drove round the entire Island stopping off at Punta Sur, and then at a beach on the far side. Then we drove back around the island to find Playa Lancheros where we stopped to spend the rest of the day chilling. We bought 2 buckets of 5 Corona beers and relaxed on the loungers, soaking in the heat and cooling off in the beautiful sea. Amazing!

Tuesday- Chilled day, nothing much to talk about... Skyped home to say Happy Birthday to the old man, then went to Walmart, and booked flights to DF for this weekend. Like I said on Twitter, felt like such a rock star booking tickets somewhere just to attend a housewarming... but this is more than a housewarming it is a Southampton reunion, already excited to see them again!

Wednesday- a 3 hour wait at immigration to finally pick up my card. I love Mexico, but there are some things that are just so frustrating here. They tried to "improve" the system with a queue and ticket system, but it has failed miserably. Front page news today. Absolute torture. Beach, beach, beach again and ladie's night in Sensations for our last night with the Guatemalans :(

All of us from Southampton keep saying how we honestly don't know what we have done to deserve this... we are so lucky to be here and are enjoying every minute of it. I can't put it into words how much I love it here, and I just can't imagine this ever ending.

Thanks so much for reading, I will now reward your kindness and leave you with some tasty pictures of my ever sexy, bruise battered and now scar ridden, legs.

Lots of love, Kim, Kimbo, Kymbo, Kym, Kimby, Kimish, Kimbaland, Kimothy, Kimbolina, Kimberly... x
