One month in Mexico... I can barely believe it, the time has flown by so quickly! One month left at work, and then I have 6 weeks of Christmas holidays to plan! I hope the rest of the year doesn't go this quickly :(

The fact that I'm no longer religiously taking photos shows that life here in Cancún feels like home already.

Saturday I played like absolute crap and let my team down again, I just can't adjust to this completely different style of play here... everything about it is different. The people are smaller, my position has changed, the language has changed, the speed has changed, the defence has changed, the structure has changed, the offence has changed, the temperature has changed, the courts are outdoors... everything has changed and I'm struggling to adapt. I play how I know I can play during trainings, and with the boys, but for some reason when I step on that court on Saturday things just go horribly wrong. I'm not even being over dramatic, it was horrible, but then again, it has only been my 2nd game with my new team... so here's hoping I improve some day!

I went to The City with a couple of my friends from the Residencial and from basketball to forget about the disaster that was me on the court... another great night, and I didn't even realise the time until I looked around and it had gone from the most packed club I have almost ever seen, to the last few people standing as they closed up for the night/morning. Another Open Bar with table service, but this time they actually gave us full bottles of Tequila, on top of all the other cocktails we were consuming. Amazing night.

In the morning, I thought I was paying the price for having such a good night... but it turns out it was something much more sinister, to add to the cough/gripa and hangover that I was already having to endure. Revancha had come and hit me with force. Luckily Maryanna, my first Mexican sleepover woo, left before having to hear my stomach churn and to witness me constantly running to the bathroom to vom. Bloody streetfood. It tastes so good, but maybe I should've waited a bit longer to prepare my stomach. I didn't eat all of Sunday and managed only a sandwhich on Monday, which for me is unheard of... and I've actually lost weight because of it, I need to buy a belt... so if you're looking for a diet, just fly over here and eat some tasty streetfood... here is my version of the well known saying:

"A moment of Mexican street food on the lips... minor weight loss from your hips"

Monday involved me giving conversations, and chilling by the basketball court all day until the sun went down. Then I went exploring the streets with Maryanna until I met two friends from the University who then showed me around Parque de las Palapas, and the hippy park. Little stalls with all the bracelets, necklaces and bags that you could ever want. I bought a little coin purse thing, a feather earing/hair piece and a hippy scarf for the hippy party we are having on the trip this weekend.

Tuesday I played Texas Hold 'Em with the students and then had basketball training (running back and forth from the toilets still,) then caught the end of the boys game which they lost by one point again! As usual, I spent the rest of the day chilling by the basketball courts and then playing 2 vs 2 with the boys, and then chilling some more before Maryanna and I hit the Casino Palace with the boys to catch the start of the NBA.

I am so excited for tomorrow, as I am joining one of the Uni trips as an honorary tourism student! Sam, who is in Cozumel, is coming over today to join us and it is going to be an amazing trip, 6am start tomorrow! I'm spending the long weekend for the Dia de los Muertos exploring different places in the Yucutan and Merida, including the Archeological Zones (ruins,) Chichen Itza, Cities and caves... so look out for those blogs/pictures....

Well that's about all I can think of for now... yeh, this blog isn't as great as my other ones sorry, but the ones from this weekend will be I promise!

Lots of love to my family, friends and teammates... and good luck to my new teammates for the games today, Friday and Saturday!
