Ghana was vibrant and beautiful. I'm sure I wrote in a journal about Ghana so I'll dig up my travel writing and post it on here eventually. Ghana was what I imagined of West Africa...women balancing bundles on thier heads and markets full of people selling anything and everything.
What I remember most is the spicey smell in the air when I first got off the plane. Ghana smells rich and distinct, like nowhere I've been before.
I visited two slave castles up the gold coast. I also remember some guy trying to sell me what looked like a dried rat on a wooden stick for lunch. He also offered me a pineapple -it was a toss up. I think I was healthy on this trip which was a miracle.
Again, more details to come...
