Finding your way round Venice for the uninitiated is an experience! We wandered round trying to work out where the Vaporetto went from for ages in the rain. Found it in the end and enjoyed the boat ride to our hotel!

After loads of research into where to stay we were delighted to find that the hotel looked exactly like the pics. Can definitely recommend the Hotel American Dinesen!

Venice is a bit cold and wet but the canals look mysterious and romantic swathed in mist!!!

Quite tired after travelling so we have a quick explore of the local area before heading back to the hotel to change and then find a cosy little restaurant.

We find a tiny little cafe near the hotel before dinner and enjoy a bottle of red wine before finding a wonderful restaurant. Couldn't tell you the name or even where it was - we just wandered til we found it!!

A really nice first day in Venice!
