Our first real relaxing time in Vegas and we made the most of it.

Day 1 we just checked into the hotel around 3pm and then went to Walmart and picked up some food for our stay. Our hotel room had fridge/freezer/microwave/hob/dishwasher so we figured we'd try and go easy on our budget for a few days. Especially as we'd be paying out for drink and a Show during our stay. Relaxed in our room all evening watching TV, a luxury we don't normally have haha!

Day 2 we visited the strip, walking Southwards and seeing alot of the luxury hotels whilst avoiding the annoying people trying to hand out flyers to everybody. Vegas is the hottest place we've been at so far - 104 degrees but feels hotter. Theres a slight breeze blowing but it's just blowing hot air around you.

Day 3 we went back to the strip but headed Northwards this time. The strip is not that big, you could walk up and down it in one day but going in the casinos and seeing the craziness inside slows you down. I mean really, a lion habitat?! The fountains outside the Bellagio hotel are great too, you could watch them for hours and be sure to check out the two videos of the fountains below (particularly the one at night). We had a little drink at a nice restaurant on a shopping mall plaza. I had a beer which was bigger than a pint (an abnormality in a country where they're normally smaller) and Stanzi tried some flavoured margharitas. 2 drinks each and we were feeling woozy! The heat is not suited for drinking, but everyone is doing it - people can walk the streets with a drink in their hands and there is no smoking ban anywhere either. Vegas is like it's own world.

Day 4 not a lot happened today. We planned to go to a show but I had a banging headache all day so stayed in the room watching TV with the curtains shut. Probably a combination of the heat and the drink, I dread to think how other people must feel.

Day 5 It worked out nice that we had a day to rest and recover as it meant our last day could be more fun. We went back to the strip, took a ride on the Vegas monorail, bought our tickets for Vegas! The Show!, went for dinner, then watched the show before saying goodbye at the Bellagio fountains one last time. The show was great - a real poignant tribute to the Vegas of yesteryear. It kind of has a bittersweet feeling at the end as it makes you realise that a lot of the classic places and people that made Vegas what it was, have now moved on. Not Barry Manilow or David Copperfield though, they're still here haha!

See ya later Vegas!
