Well ladies and gentlemen we finally made it to Tokyo! After a wonderfull few days with my aunt and uncle in Burbank in which I attended a delightful and thought provoking church service, saw an episode of the Tonight Show live , experienced a local Music in the Park event and ate a TON of delicious food I was on my way! I met up with Katelyn at the manhattan beach Marriott for our final night in the states. We had some nice wine, took a nice stroll supposedly down to the beach, but we gave up half way, and relaxed in the hot tub. We then met up with one of my oldest friends where the merriment continued. On Wednesday we headed to LAX where we connected with Angela. From here it was just a lot of waiting.

We waited to check in with the airline, then we waited through security and then we waited at the gate. Although I must say, everything went very smoothly. I was having all these horrified thoughts of me being flagged due to the ridiculous amount of medications I was taking with me. But nothing occurred. They just waived me on through, but I don't know if that necessarily made me feel better or worse. I should also note that because I am such a paranoid person I thought we had to obey the carry on weight limits to a T. This meant katelyn and I could have no more than 15 lbs in one bag. Well we were both over so after much manipulating we were able to get it down. But this meant that I was wearing 2 pairs of pants, an undershirt, a long sleeve shirt, and a tshirt. I was a little warm to say the least. And in the end it was all for naught since no one even looked twice at us. Oh well, better safe than sorry.

The flight itself was amazing, wonderful food, although we were all suffering from it later, excellent service, and top notch entertainment. I watched 5 movies during the flight, all of which were released within the last year. They also had an abundance of wine rolling about. If I had had a mind to I could have easily gotten sloshed. However, since I already suffer from motion sickness I didn't want to take any chances. I did have one glass however, I'm not a saint! It partially ended up on my pants which thank the lord are stain resistant! All in all it was a great experience, mostly because it was without issue.

Once we got into Tokyo we zipped through customs and met up with katelyns friend Rice. And yes, I am aware of the humor to be found in this name. Without his help we would have been wandering around some train stations for hours to come. And now we are all settled into our hostel and ready for some much needed sleep. But I wanted to let everyone know we made it here and now just 6 more months to go!
