For my concert cultural opportunity, I went to an outdoor concert by Sanctus Real, which is a Christian rock band. My Christian faith is important to me, and I went with two of my sisters, so it was a nice experience for us. The concert was also free! I've listened to some of their music before, so I am glad I got to see the band in person because it put a face to their songs. The lead singer and guitarist was the one to talk to the audience, and he did a good job drawing the audience members in. He was an energetic and funny person, so he was enjoyable to listen to and watch. He gave me some insight to the lyrics behind some of his songs, which was interesting to me.

The setting was nice as well. Like I mentioned, the concert was outdoors and luckily, it happened to be a beautiful evening. I remember there was a gorgeous sunset, one of the best I have ever seen! Sunsets are among my favorite things, so it made me happy. The people around us also seemed generally happy and friendly. The woman sitting next to us offered us some bug spray, because there were mosquitoes about. It was also a very relaxed atmosphere; the audience was sprawled about a grassy hill around the stage for the musicians. Overall, I had a fun time with my sisters, gained some insight on several good songs, and got to enjoy a beautiful evening outside.
