So, what exactly do we do while driving hour after hour? Well, blog posts, of course. And looking out the window. Oh, yes, and talking to each other. Forgot that.

But, mostly, we play the License Plate game. It is an app that allows you to keep track of all the license plates that you'll see. You can imagine the great excitement when we find a new plate—today, we were excited to see Kansas and Maine for the first time. This places us at 38 found, 13 remaining.

Fun things to do with the license plate game include betting when we’ll get to the last plate (I say after we leave Los Angeles. Kathryn doesn’t think until we’re driving back almost in Michigan.) The hardest to get: Most likely Hawaii. (We’re going to Alaska for a week, so we’re pretty confident we’ll get that one.)

So, there you go. A little insight into how we’re spending hours on the road.
