Shabbat Shalom, everyone !
Apparently, that is what one says here on the Sabbath. It is quite interesting -- Friday at sunset everything shutsdown and the town gets really quiet--then as the sun goes down Saturday and the street lights go on, everyone suddenly spills out into the streets and it all gets going again !
We were lucky enough to have a nice, quiet day at home today ! We hung around here in the morning, started getting the laundry done (right in the basement) and generally recouped ! Then we set out for a stroll, and found a little playground right by our apartment that, while not the cleanest place in the world, was full of kids and Ronan and Mimi both had a good time.
There were some really pretty cactuses (cacti ?) in the park, including this one that Ronan was a bit afraid of (with good reason -- big spikes !).
We took a longer walk down the main street, and Mimi kept saying "I wanna ride a taxi !" whenever she saw a taxi -- that didn't take long. The only other thing she likes better than a taxi is to ride in the "alligator" (elevator).
Our downstairs lobby guy is a very sweet Russian Jew from Ukraine, who is so happy that we speak Russian. Like any good Russian, he was appalled that we took the kids out after dinner for ice cream (right down the street) without having hats and coats on them -- I see his point, I mean, it was about 60 degrees -- they could have frozen !
Sean and I finally got to have some falafel from the place down the street tonight, and it was yummy yummy. They put it in a pita with salad, pickles, tahini, and french fries (yes, the french fries go in the pita too). Yum. I think we'll be going there a lot -- we are getting used to being a public spectacle and but maybe after the next few times we are around town no one will notice us anymore (maybe not !)
Today was a good day for the tired / cranky meter : Mimi and I got big naps and so are way back down to 1 ; Sean is still a bit frayed around the edges at a 4 ; Ro is starting to show a little fatigue but still hanging tough.
We hope everyone is happy and well, safe from the snow in the NE ! Shabbat Shalom again xoxoxo KSRM

Wow! Great Pics/Stories
Well, Ben and I are enjoying the updates. We were a day behind and caught up tonight and I asked him what he would like to say. 'This is so cool. I love the pictures. Tell Ronan will see him soon at school.' I have to say, I am envious at the temps I am hearing when we are having snow storm after snow storm since I am mostly a summer type of girl :-) Thanks again for the updates - so much fun for us back at home. Glad you're all doing well!
