Yesterday we drove from Meadville to Kalamazoo getting in about 4 PM. We met Robin at the Kalamazoo Institute of Art where she works as Registrar and took a brief tour of their new exhibits. Last night we did Italian and tonight we ate at the Food Dance, a restaurant that accents local foods where possible. Tomorrow the culinary tour of Kalamazoo continues with brunch at Breakfast at Tiffinys (yes, it is spelled correctly). Since Jack is still in Palermo on his Fulbright for another three weeks we've just been visiting and chilling. Robin has been offering Donna tech support on her new tablet and getting her set up with ebooks.
Monday we are meeting Frank and Kay from RCR for breakfast and then head toward Mazon, Il. which is our home town. We will park on my Mother's farm and branch out from there. Wednesday we are planning a tour of Chicagoland to see the four places we lived in the 60's and 70's and will visit an old friend of Donna's and probably end up at Salerno's on the Fox for our favorite pizza. Otherwise we will be visiting relatives and old haunts. Saturday we will meet up with Donna's brother and sister near Peoria. Sunday we will head to Dixon to visit the Paynes and then on to Lake Somerset for a couple of days with Al and Carol Santini. From there we will head Northwest.
Since I probably won't have too much travelog stuff to report on till after we leave Santini's, I may not have another entry until then. At least this time I should have adequate wifi capability. Camping has changed. We have computers, a tablet, two cell phones, and wifi through my phone. What ever happened to campfires and s'mores.
See you down the road.
