On my way from Bozeman to Missoula I stopped in Butte.  It was Sunday and I was hoping to catch some football as a nice break in what would be a relatively short hop.

I stopped at Metals Sports Bar.  It was recommended by the site that sponsors my site (TripAdvisor.com) and I so I went.

Butte was a hilly town.  It hosts Montana Tech which is a bastion of the engineering, geology general mining sciences.  It kind of reminds you of the town in that ridiculous Tom Cruise vehicle "All The Right Moves".

Metals served up a nice Philly Cheesesteak with waffle fries and some kind of tangy mayo.  The bartender addressed everyone as "friend" and the place was filled with nothing but, guys wanting to watch a slew of football games at the same time.  Then out of the corrner of my eye I see something strange being poured.  Something called "Red Beer".  Red beer is 1/2 beer and 1/2 Clamato.  Clamato is a clam juice tomato concoction as the name might indicate.  Red Beer looked tasty but, I could only imagine the wretching that would occur If I took but, one sip.  I finished up my lunch, caught some scores and then drove to the Tech Campus to scope things out.  It turns out the view from the campus in quite captivating.  It is at a very high point in the town and you can see surrounding snow speckled mountains in all directions.

Butte had a small town feel but, technically in west midwest style is considered a city.  It kind of seemed like a more 50s esque and slightly more clean version of towns in the CT Valley or anyone of Baltimore's "Rivers".

I snapped some shots and scooted down the road.
