Hello Kewlabahs!

After my delayed and diverted train rides (which i'm getting really good at) to get here i have spent the last few days completely bed ridden in a hotel. I have been feeling pretty unwell for the last few days and that feeling peaked as i arrived in Paris. My first thoughts of Paris through hazy eyes is alot different to what i expected it to be. Where are all the berets, striped shirts and snail restaurants?

There is alot of unrest that continues to smolder from recent riots and the riot gear, machine gun clad Police walking the streets are proof of that. There is definitely a cultural divide in the area I am staying and alot of nervous people. In some ways its similar to Broady.

I was warned by many that the French arn't particluarly friendly or willing to help anyone who can't speak fluent French. I ignored the warnings thinking that anyone with a european phrase book and a smile could get by as i have so well thus far. I was soon proven wrong and taken back somewhat even when i was trying to buy a metro train ticket. I went up to the little window and asked for a train ticket and the guy completely ignored me despite making eye contact with me. I decided to take another approach and mumble some french sounding jibberish under my breath and point hoping my body language would speak louder than anything. He again ignored me, this time instead of trying anymore tricks i banged on the window and pointed straight at the ticket i wanted. (No one upsets Mr Kewl) This time he couldn't ignore me because he was shaking from me banging on the window so hard -  he gave me my ticket. I sent my coins flying through his little slot, took my ticket and walked off. When i was about 5 metres from his window i heard him shout something like 'English Poof' so i turned around with my angry face on and pretended to charge towards him but stopped when he ducked and hid behind the counter.

There were a few more incidents like this that got me fired up in Paris but i enjoyed the two days i was there and able to walk so i could see some of the sights through my increasingly hazy eyes.

My patience is wearing thin, i'm tired and i'm getting really thirsty all the time maybe its the water or i'm going too hard with all this travelling.

-Could something else be going on?

I'm off to Amsterdam next to wind down this trip and hopefully relax a little before heading to London for my flight home.

Toot Toot, Ring Ring, Tookie Tookie!
