Flew from Vegas to San Fran as we didnt want the long boring drive , arrived at hotel and they allocated us a cupboard !! ,, was smaller than the shower at the Palazzo ,, anyway after a quick word they moved us to a much better room , although it was on the front of the building and we had to put up with the traffic noise , after a couple of nights with cotton wool in your ears you get used to it ..I'm sure the motorists dont need to sound their carhorns for so long and so often ,, impatient bxxxxxxs ,, first day we were there San Fran had its worst October storm for years ,, just our luck ! but the umbrella man did a roaring trade . Weather was much better for the rest of the week ,, went to Fishermans Wharf ,, which is a bit touristy but you have to do it ,, good seafood for lunch ,,took the night trip to Alcatraz , its only a short boat ride to the island but its spooky , the fog comes into the bay and due to various reasons it seems to creep up to the rock and smother it ,, it was a good tour better than the daytime one ,, apparently the birdman never kept birds on Alcatraz !!!!
Lots of homeless wandering the streets all over even though the area we were in was a bit hip and upcoming,,
Hired a car today and set off for yosemite
