Huge city, lots of walking needed to get to places (never caught public transport anywhere).
Liberation monument, from fascism then communism. Great view over Danube river and Pest
Jewish Synagogue the largest functioning in Europe. Tree of memory for Jews who died during the holocaust, silver leaves with names inscribed.
Castle Hill (by night)
Mathias church
Fishermans Bastion
National gallery, huge gothic altar
Buda Castle labyrinth
typical hungarian meal of goulash, paprika stuffed with cabbage and sausage.
Hero square, cool statues. Hungarian saints & heroes less angelic. Most have axes and swords. Anonymous, peering cowled statue by castle in park. little prince.
St Istavan, same old church but has founding hungarian St's withered hand in glass case. hand travelled all over, been stolen and returned lots.
Gellert baths
Covered market very sanitary, miles away from your typical asian market with flies on all the meat etc.
Sunny and warm by day, by night thunderstorms. Almost predictable.
