Had my first Chinese lesson (learning Chinese). Excellent. One of the English teachers at the school. In exchange I will chat with her son for an hour on Saturdays. Seems fair enough. Not sure what he thinks about it, after his 70 hr school week. Could you imagine what 10. klasser or 6th formers would say to that.

Finished preparing my powerpoint in the lunch break, when everyone else takes a kip.

At school to meet Deng Ling to find that one of the lesson is cancelled. No worries. Can use what I prepared tomorrow.

I feel like the lesson went great. Amended DL's powerpoint to take out the Chinese. Felt in control. Deng Ling said it was good, that's nice! And she took loads of pics for me, which was great.
After dinner was walking time, Jin Bao Ping explained to me that that’s what Chinese people do after dinner, so they don’t get fat! So he, I and his niece went out. Turned out he wanted to go shopping! He told me later he doesn’t like walking much himself either. Tricked. Oh well, showed me a good supermarket, and I got to know the area a bit better. Sometimes I feel so closeted though. It’s a bit like being a child again. Weird. Uncomfortable. On the other hand I know he is only looking out for my best – it’s a great honour, I believe, to have me staying.
