Well as the "fun" travel portion of my trip has come upon me I've grown less interested in writing updates and more interested in having, well, fun :) I've also had far more time to reflect on ALL that has happened here, while I've been away from work. Being in such unique and beautiful places has left me plenty of time to process all that has been on my mind, what I've seen, done and felt.
I'm now in my final destination, Cape Town, South Africa. Where I fly home in 3 days :(
It's been an amazing trip. As I was walking along the top of table mountain looking down at the point where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet, I realized that I felt like the luckiest man in the world at that moment, sitting on the edge of the cliff the city FAR below me. Cape town is simply stunning and like no place else I've seen in Africa (it could not be more extrememly different than anyplace else I've been here).
Cape Town is good to phase me back into my life in the US, a slow adaptation back to my typical world and a nice ending to the this grand adventure. I have been rather nostalgic and definately excited to return home and see my loved ones. It's actually a good feeling to recognize that I do have a home and have a longing for it. Being with Geoffrey has been an amazing gift, to spend so much time with an old friend continues to be an amazing gift to both think of where were where, who were are now, and what we dream for our futures.
I've gotta head out now, I'm itching to go explore the city more. We're wondering around to art galleries and museums today before a going to see the Cape Town Symphony orchestra tonight. Then it's a tour of the wine country tomorrow and exploring the Town night life friday night. Then 28 hours of sitting on planes (plus layovers) to return home....
So I will see you all soon with a million stories and photo's to share. Thanks for reading my frequently sappy and sentinmental stories on my trip... this intense adventure brings that out in me :)
Much Love!
Kevin
