I've been in Denmark for almost 1 month now! Lots of crazyness has happened, and I'll do my best to summarize for you here. For more frequent updates of what I've been up to you'll want to check out my live journal here

After my last entry (2'nd day in Denmark), I've moved into my permanent accommodations. I live in a "container" with 8 other people- about 5 of them are Chinese, then there is 1 French and 1 American girl, and a guy from Spain and a guy from Poland. They are al pretty cool. If you check the gallery there is a photo of my room (small, but a single!)

After the first weekend, I started "welcome week" which is kind of an orientation to DTU for international students- basically an excuse to meet a whole bunch of people from all around the world, and then drink with them!

During my second day in Copenhagen, I chatted with a native named Nina ( or at least pronounced that way). She gave me a crash course in Danish culture. Here's what she had to say:

*Danish people are very nice, but shy; randomly approaching people (as I did to her) is not very common, and the Danes are usually caught off guard when it happens. Good thing I can play the foreign card

*Danish operate as a whole. Example- schools cater to the students who aren't doing as well, where as in the US the students who perform the best are given the best opportunities. Nina said Danes never strive to be #1, but #2 instead.

I have also found out that Danish youth gets paid to go to college! I didn't believe it when I first heard it. So go Northeastern for charging me $40,000 a year when I could just be Danish and get PAID to go to school. BAH!

Classes started during the second week of Feb. I'm taking 3 classes. Each class meets about 8 hours a week, which means that I'm in class about 24 hours a week! The advantage of that is less homework, and during class we take alot of breaks. Here is why my class schedule is like:

M: 9-4
T: PARTY!
W: 9-3
TH: 9-4
F: PARTY!

So if this update wasn't brutally long enough for you, please email me or comment on this entry and I'll either add some more stuff or tell you "too bad". I'm heading to Copenhagen tonight, I'll catch you all later!
