Beth worked with me in Safe Passage between 2005 and 2006. Beth left Guatemala in the worst circumstances - she was in the car accident that killed Hanley Denning, the founder of Safe Passage, back in January 2007. She was badly injured in the accident and had to be flown back to the States to resume her recovery. She is still recovering from her injuries in her sisters home in Warsaw, Indiana. So I decided to visit her on my way through to Guatemala.
I met up wth Beth and Rachel (from Maine office of Safe Passage), who decided join us to have a mini reunion in Indiana. It was good to meet up with the both of them and reminisced for awhile, while waiting for my luggage. My luggage arrived around lunch time and so we started the drive up to Warsaw, Beth's home town, about 2 hours north.
Indiana is an agricultural area, mainly corn and soya bean crops. The soya bean crops are used to produce bio-diesel.
