We shot over to Salzburg before the fam, and tried to get Gran' Ma in the right frame of mind for what was coming. Nothing could really prepare her though, but we did try our best. Needing some R&R ourselves, as we had driven through terrible, terrible, terrible weather to make it here. With windscreen wipers that decided to stop working and the auto-bahn a near parking lot, the 4 hour drive turned to over 8 (note: this was on top of yesterdays 8 hours for Amsterdam to Stuttgart). Not pleasant and something Fiddy never really recovered from.
